BILE DUCT STONE / PANCREATIC DUCT STONE REMOVAL & STENTING
An ERCP may be sufficient to remove small stones from the common bile duct or to place a stent inside the duct to restore bile flow. When CBD stones cannot be removed, a transient stent is placed in the patient in order to prevent impaction, to provide a bridge for more advanced methods and to facilitate bile drainage. It has been shown that such stenting makes the stones smaller and easier to remove.
Similerly pancreatitic duct stones can be removed after ESWL and PD stenting can be done. PD stenting in ERCP can prevent pancreatitis.
All ERCP related procedures are being done under Section or General anaesthesia. in the empanelled hospital.
